Supporting the Families of our Fallen Heroes

About Us

The Folded Flag Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides educational scholarships and support grants to the spouses and children of the U.S. military and government personnel who died as a result of hostile action or in an accident related to U.S. combat operations.

10-Year Anniversary
Friendship, Honor, and Sacrifice

Our story began a decade ago when friends and West Point classmates united to honor their fallen comrades and all the brave men and women who have given their lives in service to our nation. Together, they founded the Folded Flag Foundation.

“Memorial Day is a special day set aside for us to remember and honor those who gave their lives defending our country. The children and spouses of these fallen heroes live with this sacrifice and memory every day,” said Bill Foley, Founder of the Folded Flag Foundation. “This day also marks the 10-year anniversary of the Folded Flag Foundation. From the beginning, the mission of this organization has been to honor the legacy of our nation’s heroes by supporting their families. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our donors whose donations honor the legacy of these mothers, fathers, husbands and wives who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.”

For the past 10 years, we have been committed to honoring the legacy of our nation’s heroes and supporting their families. As we celebrate this milestone, we invite you to join us in providing scholarships, financial assistance, and vital support services to the loved ones of fallen service members.

The Incredible Need
of These Families

Since 2001, nearly 10,000 men and women have died while deployed in the combat zone, leaving behind thousands of spouses and children. Limited government funding exists to support surviving families in their critical transition to civilian life.

Ethan
Carbajal

Ethan, a scholarship recipient of the Folded Flag Foundation, is currently in his second year at Dallas Baptist University. His father, Staff Sergeant Carlos Benitez, was killed in action in 2010 while deployed to Afghanistan when Ethan was only 8 years old. Ethan recently shared how the funding from the Folded Flag Foundation and its donors has impacted his life after his father’s sacrifice. “It’s truly a blessing to receive continual support after my dad’s passing. I’m grateful for all of the donors that make this possible; I truly thank the Folded Flag Foundation for making this an advocate of gold star families like mine.”
