LAS VEGAS – May 14, 2019 – The Charity Series of Poker will host its first-ever Chips for Heroes Golf and Poker Tournament on Sunday, May 19, at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad, Calif. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Folded Flag Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to preserving the legacy of our military’s fallen heroes by providing scholarships and educational grants for their spouses and children.
“The Chips for Heroes golf and poker tournament is a unique event that combines two high-stakes games in honor of those who died defending our country,” said Matt Stout, poker pro and founder of the Charity Series of Poker. “To lay down your life for what you believe in is the greatest sacrifice. We hope to garner the support of golfers and poker players alike to help these soldiers’ families continue to thrive.”
Following the morning’s golf tournament, attendees will be treated to a reception, a silent auction and a chance to compete for cash and other prizes in a Texas Hold’em poker tournament. The grand prize is the opportunity to play against poker pro Daniel Negreanu for a $10K World Series of Poker Main Event seat in Las Vegas. Chip leaders and the most rebuys will receive $500 cash each.
