The Folded Flag Foundation Welcomes City National Bank as a Corporate Partner

City National Bank Pledges $100K Donation to Support Gold Star Spouses and Children

LAS VEGAS, NV. – November 11, 2021 – The Folded Flag Foundation, a national organization committed to honoring America’s fallen heroes by providing their families with financial support for education, announced today City National Bank as the newest member of its corporate partnership program. City National Bank gifted the foundation with a $100,000 donation with 100 percent directly benefiting Gold Star families.

“Our gratitude to City National Bank truly goes beyond words, and we cannot thank them enough for their generous contribution and unwavering support,” said Kim Frank, President, The Folded Flag Foundation. “We march together with our families to create a pathway for educational success and are thrilled to have City National Bank join our mission.”

The Folded Flag Foundation provides educational scholarships and support grants to qualifying spouses and children (under the age of 26) to help with educational costs. Covering a wide range of living expenses and educational needs from kindergarten to college/trade school, scholarships are granted for the fall and spring academic semesters, in addition to those applicants seeking assistance for summer school and summer-related activities.

For the 2021-2022 school year, The Folded Flag Foundation awarded 678 scholarships valued at just over $3M, the most in the foundation’s history.

“City National is honored to support the Folded Flag Foundation and its scholarship program for children of fallen veterans,” said Kelly Coffey, CEO of City National Bank. “We firmly believe that City National has a role to play in building communities that are safe and equitable for everyone. My involvement with U.S.VETS has made me keenly aware of the challenges faced by veterans and their families, and the importance of organizations like Folded Flag. In honor of Veterans Day – and every day – we owe it to those who have served our country to help them build a better, more sustainable future.”

The Folded Flag Foundation was formed in 2014 by Bill Foley, renowned businessman and owner of the Vegas Golden Knights, to supplement the current death benefits paid to families of fallen service members. The Folded Flag Foundation has awarded 1,774 scholarships valued at nearly $11 million since its inception.
