The Folded Flag Foundation Wishes the United States Marine Corps a Happy Birthday!
On this day, 243 years ago, the Continental Marines began in Pennsylvania. Like the Continental Navy, the Continental Marines were disestablished after the Revolutionary War. President John Adams signed the act establishing the Marine Corps on July 11, 1798.
Folded Flag greatly values the USMC’s service and sacrifice, which is why we do our part to financially support the education of the spouses and children of fallen heroes. We would like to thank all members of the United States Marine Corps – past and present – for 243 years of service.
