A MESSAGE FROM:

John Coogan, Former President, The Folded Flag Foundation

The Folded Flag Foundation is a strong supporter of education, which is why we make it our mission to provide scholarships to qualifying spouses and children of America’s fallen heroes.

We are proud to announce that we were able to award more than $1.8 million in educational scholarships for the 2018-19 school year. Out of the 205 scholarship recipients, 111 were new scholars and 94 were returning scholars.

While we were able to award $700,000 more than we did last year, we want to continue to increase the number of scholarships granted to the thousands of spouses and children who we have yet to help.

The foundation’s ultimate goal is to connect with each one of these family members. Doing so, however, means raising $5 million in annual fundraising to cover the projected need of $100 million over the next 20 years.

With help from our donors, ambassadors, corporate sponsors and communities, we can meet this goal.

If you are interested in hosting an event to support The Folded Flag Foundation, please email Events@www.foldedflagfoundation.org. If you would like to make a donation to provide educational assistance to a Gold Star spouse or child, visit our website here.

As always, thank you to our active duty and reserved service members. We appreciate your sacrifice more than we can say.

Thank you all for your continuous support.

HEAR THEIR STORIES:
Meet Britt Harris

Christian Harris

Fort Bragg soldier Chris Harris was killed in Afghanistan last year – just days after learning he was going to be a father.

Chris’ wife, Britt Harris, later involved her late husband’s unit in the gender reveal in October and in a May photo shoot with the couple’s daughter. The photo taken in May went viral, and is how The Folded Flag Foundation came to find Britt.

Britt recently hosted an event to honor Chris, and to help raise awareness for Folded Flag. The event was held on Aug. 25 at the Airborne & Special Units Museum in Fayetteville, NC.

Folded Flag is pleased to provide both Britt and her daughter, Christian, scholarships toward their education. Britt plans to pursue her master’s and doctorate degrees in counseling.

If you are interested in making a donation to help Britt, and other’s like Britt, make a donation here.
