A MESSAGE FROM KIM FRANK
President, The Folded Flag Foundation

The past few months have been difficult and unexpected, as we all have had to adjust to new social distancing guidelines, working from home and economic uncertainty.

While these are unprecedented times, it is truly remarkable to see how the support for our nation’s Gold Star family members has not wavered.

Thanks to the generous support of our donors and corporate partners, we awarded more than $1.5 million in educational scholarships to 356 Gold Stars for the 2020-21 school year. You can read more about this year’s scholarship funding below.

We’ve also continued hosting several events to raise funds for our scholarship recipients. In July, O’Charley’s Restaurant and Bar hosted its first Songwriter’s Café Virtual Concert which featured country artists Jason Crabb and Lance Miller. The event was hosted on O’Charley’s Facebook page and open to the public. We are thankful to O’Charley’s for their continuous support and commitment to supporting our mission. We are working with them to schedule additional virtual concerts in the next few months and hope to announce more information soon.

Last month, Rock Creek Cattle Company hosted its annual Food, Wine and Arts Festival, a private event where members and guests are invited to play golf, view local art, bid on silent auction items, and participate in wine and food tastings. The proceeds raised from the event went directly to Folded Flag. You can read more about the event below.

If you are interested in contributing to Folded Flag’s mission of providing educational scholarships, consider making a donation by visiting our website at FoldedFlag.org. Because of our underwriting sponsors, Black Knight, Inc., Fidelity National Financial, FIS and ServiceLink, 100% of your donation goes directly to these families and is completely tax-refundable to the full extent of the law.

Thank you all for your continuous generosity and support.

Sincerely,
Kim Frank

$670,000 RAISED FOR FOLDED FLAG AT ROCK CREEK CATTLE COMPANY’S ANNUAL FOOD, WINE AND ARTS FESTIVAL

Rock Creek Cattle Company hosted its annual Food, Wine and Arts Festival at its facilities in Deer Lodge, Montana. This event is a private gathering where members and guests are invited to participate in food and wine tastings, play golf, and more – all to benefit Folded Flag.

Following social distancing guidelines, attendees gathered together in late August to raise approximately $670,000 – which is the most we’ve raised at this event in the past eight years.

Thank you to the Rock Creek staff, Foley Family Wines, the artists and the wonderful guests who helped make this year’s event a huge success.

HEAR THEIR STORIES: THE HALLETT FAMILY

Guests of Rock Creek Cattle Company’s Food, Wine and Arts Festival heard the personal story of Lisa Hallett and her children. Lisa lost her husband, Capt. John Hallett, in 2009 when he was killed in action in Afghanistan. Her youngest child, Heidi, was born just weeks before her husband was killed. He never had the chance to meet his little girl. A special thank you to Lisa for sharing her very personal story with all of us.

Visit our website to hear more stories from our scholarship recipients.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
